Ooi Wei Keat Malaysia

Mr. Ooi Wei Keat is a Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital Kota Kinabalu, following 19 years of service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the public healthcare system. He completed his subspecialty training in Upper GI Surgery in 2019 and was the first Malaysian fellow at Erasmus University Medical Centre in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He played a pivotal role in establishing the Upper GI Surgery service in Sabah, where he led the unit for six years. Before transitioning to the private sector, he also served as the Deputy Head of Service for Upper GI Surgery. Mr. Ooi has contributed to the academic field with the publication of a book chapter and several journal articles, and he remains actively involved in clinical research.
