Dr. Stephen Ng is a consultant and honorary clinical associate professor at the Division of Upper Gastrointestinal and Metabolic Surgery, Department of Surgery, Prince of Wales Hospital, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
He obtained fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong, and was honored with the GB Ong Medal and the Li Shields Medal. Dr. Ng has received multiple local and international accolades, including the Mrs. Esther FC Wu Memorial Fund Travelling Scholarship, the GB Ong Visiting Fellowship, and the IFSO Observership Scholarship. These prestigious awards allowed him to serve as a visiting scholar at esteemed medical centers in the United States, India, and Japan, where he concentrated on advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, metabolic bariatric endoscopy, and robotic surgery.
Dr. Ng is committed to advancing research and education on both local and international fronts. He serves as a teaching faculty at various local and international endoscopy workshops. He is a member of the metabolic bariatric endoscopy committee of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), honorary treasurer of the Hong Kong Hernia Society, and is a council member of the Hong Kong Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
