Vo Duy Long Vietnam

Doctor Vo Duy Long is currently surgeon and deputy head of Department of Gastro-Intestinal Surgery, University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam and also a lecturer of Department of General surgery, School of Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. Doctor Long graduated from Faculty of Medicine at University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam in 2001. He received his surgical training in Catania University, Italia with master degree. He has established a multidisciplinary program for treatment of Esophageal and Gastric cancers in University Medical Center since 2015. Doctor Long has performed laparoscopic gastrectomy and esophagectomy for cancer since 2008. He performs about 150 laparoscopic gastrectomy and 50 minimally invasive esophagectomy per year. He has many presentations at the meetings of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), Asia Pacific Endo-Lap Surgery Group (APEL), Asia Pacific Gastric Cancer Congress (APGCC), International Gastric Cancer Congress (IGCC), Japanese Gastric Cancer Association (JGCA), Korea International Gastric Cancer Week (KINGCA WEEK) … His research interests include gastric and esophageal cancer, and obesity, especially applying laparoscopy for these diseases. He received prestigious Award of Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) in 2012 with title “Comparion Of Laparoscopic And Open Gastrectomy With Lymph Node Dissection For Gastric Cancer”. He is a reviewer for a number of prestigious medical journals including Annals of Surgical Oncology, Surgical Endoscopy, Surgical Laparoscopy, Endoscopy & Percutaneous Techniques, and International Journal of Surgery… He was the first president of Upper Gastro-Intestinal Surgical Society of ASEAN (USAN) and the 9th congress president of Asia Pacific Gastric Cancer Congress (APGCC).
