Ho Shiaw Hooi Malaysia

Dr Ho Shiaw Hooi is a consultant gastroenterologist and physician at Hospital Picaso, Petaling Jaya. He is one of the pioneers and trainers in image-enhanced endoscopy (IEE), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), submucosal tunnelling endoscopic resection (STER) and endoscopic anti-reflux procedures in the country. Dr Ho is a Faculty Member of Asian Novel Bio-Imaging & Intervention Group (ANBIIG), Councillor of Asian-Pacific Society for Digestive Endoscopy (APSDE), Fellow of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES), Associate Editor of BioMed Central (BMC) Gastroenterology and International Advisor of Advances in Digestive Medicine (AIDM). He has served as a Committee Member (2019–2021) of the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology & Hepatology (MSGH), Associate Professor of Medicine (2017-2025) at Universiti Malaya (UM) and Director (2020-2024) of the Combined Endoscopy Unit at UM Medical Centre (UMMC).
